NYC Sun

This past weekend i was staying in New York City for a couple days and i managed to have lunch with one of my very closest friends, Carly. She looked so cute when i saw her and i knew it was the perfect day to put take some pictures and feature her look on my blog. Of course, she went right into model mode and i got some great pictures. We also stopped at Sugar & Plumm on the Upper West Side; it was amazing and i highly recommend it for tea and dessert! Check this diva out:

Easter Sunday

Easter was great this year. My husband and I had his parents and grandparents over for appetizers and then we went out for an early dinner to a restaurant on the beach. It was a beautiful day, a tad cold, but definitely nice. Whenever we spend time with family - it's a good day. We had Passover with my family earlier in the week and both days were just perfect. When Easter comes every year, i always feel like i HAVE to wear something with pretty colors. I found this floral skirt at Forever21 and it was ideal for the day. Flowy and comfortable which gave me some breathing room for all our food. Here are some pictures from the day!

Sunny Days

This weekend was the BEST weather. That kind where it's the perfect temperature and you can wear long sleeves and shorts and still feel perfect. My husband and i went for a walk on the boardwalk and sat outside for brunch. It feels so nice that the bitter cold winter we had is finally coming to an end and spring is upon us! Wedding Season

Over the weekend, my cousin Michelle got married in Rhinebeck, New York to her long-time boyfriend Michael. When i say long-time, i mean they started dating when they were 16 years old. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and the love that the two of them share is so special, i shed some tears for sure. Once we got upstairs for the reception, they had their first song to "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira. I thought it was so fabulous. Apparently, it is Michelle's absolute favorite song. They definitely got the party started with that and everyone joined in to dance. The speeches were hilarious as his groomsmen are also Michelle's friends from high school. The maids of honor, my other cousins, were genuine and said so many nice things about the couple. Everyone really got a great understanding of them together, which i think is really important. It was so nice to spend time with my family and cousins that i don't get to see so often. Since we sat at the same table as them, we all had a blast. Here are some pictures throughout the night - i only had my phone so the quality isn't fantastic!

Is it summer yet?

I have completely outworn all of my pants. I am so over it. April is that in between month where i can't wear my bright colored jeans yet and i definitely can't wear shorts so what am i left with? My jeans and my leggings. All dark or black. It's so dull. Don't get me wrong, i love the color black. But i am ready for summer. I'm ready to wear shorts and bright colors. I found a pair of shoes i hadn't worn in almost two years so i thought i'd throw them on for a pop of color. Seems i'm into the whole snake skin look this week! Even though my blazer has white and tan stripes, i think the pattern on the shoes blends nicely with it. Mixing patterns is a huge trend right now and while i have a little bit of trouble feeling comfortable doing it, i thought i'd start small with this look and see where it takes me.

Dinner for Two

My husband and I love to go out for dinner at least once a week, sometimes twice. We are pretty casual people so getting too dressed up for dinner when we are only going to a place where i could probably wear sweatpants and be fine seems silly. With this outfit, i felt really comfortable. I'm obsessed with this bag which i recently found in my mom's closet too and i think it really adds flavor to the black and creme theme i have going on. What do you think?
